June 8th, 9th and 10th: Fergus Falls MN

Greetings and salutations! Recently, the Jousting group that I work with (and that works at my home Faire) was asked to do a show up in Fergus Falls, MN. We had done the show last year as simply our Joust and trick show (www.cavalloeqarts.com has video footage), but this year the director of the event decided she wanted to make it more of a Renaissance festival, and not just a show.

So! While the Jousters (Cavallo Equestrian Arts) have done quite a few Renaissance Faires, they've never had to actually plan one, and since the event director isn't from the "Rennie" scene, they're not quite sure where to start.

If anyone is interesting in coming to the event in costume, and basically just being in character and interactive with the patrons, we would be delighted to have you. It's a great chance to rehearse or try out new costumes before the big Faire, and costume policy will be very flexible, so it's also a great chance to go ahead and wear that Faerie outfit, or Pirate get-up, or suchlike. :)

The event will allow all participants to camp for free, and Saturday night they will host a BBQ party, as a thank-you. As this is a VERY small event, there really isn't "entertainment" budget for stage acts, but anyone who is a musician, juggler or other street performer can feel quite free to pass the hat to their heart's content. They are also especially looking for vendors, so if anyone out there is interested, there will be NO vendor fee at all. They expect a crowd in the range of 20k-30k in attendance over the course of the weekend.

The event will be held at the West Ottertail County Fairgrounds, June 8th, 9th and 10th. If you would be interested in coming to play Faire, you can contact the event director, Diane Korby at:

How do I apply to be a burner or a fire spinner at the RenFest?

English lady--Lady Audra (no official title)

Maybe new this year---Scottish lass or Irish
prefer Scottish so that my collie, Ryker, completes the costume!

On the lease: The official word is the lease is still good until after the 2007 season and that negotiations are in the works to renew it.

hello everyone it's Eric Christopher aka ulf aka ghost wolf aka jackass and several others. lol i am a former cabbie at the MN ren fest and currently a hawker. i have done vilification tennis etc. and i need your help. i have just moved to MN (chisago city area) i have just gotten into this "reality band" compitition for the band "rug burn" ( www.rugburnrocks.com ) and well they are having people vote online for their favorite singer and or drummer. well i have found that some of the other contestants are getting their friends to vote for them but the only friends i have here are you guys from fest. :( so i am hoping you can help, check out the web site and or come out and see us cause this is a really big deal for me and i'd like to at least have a small bit of support if possible. so i am turning to my rennie/festie friends and hoping you ladies and gentlemen and those of you who are niether (hee hee hee) can help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please if you can come see the show at the star bar on wed! (corner of 40th and central) and or show a brother some love on the site i am listed in the compition as a singer.

Sadly, I'm not going to be able to make it to Fest this year. I'm wondering if anyone can help me find a friend of mine, though. I've tried all sorts of internet searches but just can't find him. He's been known to hang around at Fest, so I thought I'd give this a try.

My friend Bill is 6'2", has red hair and a beautiful smile. He's been known to wear a black hat with feather. Has a fascination with swords. Likes to tell stories and is a bit crazy. Went to high school in New Ulm.

Any information or help would be greatly appreciated!

New King?

While at the MOA this past Sunday, the MNRF Court was there, as well as other entertainers. I picked up one of the brochures, and it mentioned that there will be a crowning of a new king...

Has Prince Henry been elevated to king, or has another one of the king's brothers been found to take over the realm?

Also listed on the brochure was some of the new foods... Thai chicken and chipolte (sp?) doesn't sound too renaissance-ish...

So my friends, sad news. MRF has not currently nego. a new lease agreement with the owners of the land that our lovely faire resides upon. What does that mean? Only two more years left of RenFest that's what.

Now that is unless MRF moves...unlikely. Or the parties involed can come to an agreement...again unlikely. I think we will be possibly noticing some changes even as soon as this year! Pay special attention to the parking situation out there!

So, now what.....WE DEMAND A NEW FAIRE!!! If we can't continue with MRF. We need a new home.

Scotty, get to work....we need ya man! Long live Stirling!

The MRF people gave me a call today. Looking to see if I am interested in Feast tickets. I guess the price is going up 5 bucks. Don't know if I will do the Feast again or not. The food was not all that great last time I went -- couple of years ago.....also they need to revamp some of the "show" imo.

Have you all done the Feast before? What did you think? Will ya go this year?
