You're speaking of Bill Lochen. He is still around - just not out at Fest, anymore. This will be his fifth year of "retirement" from the character of William DeLacey, Lord High Sherrif of the Realm. Bill spent 27 years at Fest, and if I am not mistaken, more than 20 of them as the Lord High Sherrif. Bill left the same year George Herrman retired from playing King Henry - also a 27-year stint.

Bill is still VERY entrenched in historical reenacting, however. He, along with me and several friends, started the 42nd Highland Regiment in 1998. You can go see our website at www.highlandregiment.org

Bill is out at Fest at least one day each season, usually Labor Day, and reprises hie role as the LHS by making a guest appearance at the Feast of Fantasy, and walking around actually able to DRINK while in costume!!

      Cheers!!
      Scotty
